Fringe was more about parallel worlds than time travel.

I haven't actually even seen an episode of Fringe. I am asking a question in the OP and pointing to Etta's question in the link, where she is getting Fringe "Vibes" from QB. Not saying the characters are interchangable but perhaps the story is inspired to some extent? 

I am not qualified to answer, that is why I ask...
