I personally think this is all a bit silly.

All MS has done is allow more users to enter into the Xbox Ecosystem.

If you currently have a PS4 and a capable gaming PC then you now can get an Xbox Live Account and buy MS first party games.

If you have a PS4 but don't like PC gaming then nothing changes for you. You would still have to buy an Xbox console to play MS exclusives if you wanted them.

If you have an Xbox One already and don't like PC Gaming nothing changes for you.

If you only PC game and don't like consoles then you now can enter the MS ecosystem and buy MS exclusives.

IMO this is why Microsoft now looks at active Xbox users/ month as a gauge rather than Xbox One sales.
They want to increase the active userbase of Xbox players whether its Console or PC. And by reading here many users who never intended on buying and Xbox One will now have Xbox Live accounts and play them on Xbox PC.

None of this news is bad for MS, its shareholders or the gamers.
