I do believe that this is a strategy with failure written all over it. If PC is that good, why it has not become the premier playing machine for over 20 years although most PC's typically have more power than consoles.
The answer is piracy. PC games piracy is very high and easy to do.
One of the drivers for third party developers to use consoles is the ability to protect there game investment from piracy. The console maker will ensure that happens.
However, in PC, it is not the case, it is very wide open and security and piracy is a big issue and thats why developers doesnt care about PC and many of the games will not eventually release on PC.
