I don't even know where he got that idea from. Especially since Steam allows for modding which MS hates, they also support other OS's while MS doesn't. Out of all this MS is more of a walled garden than Steam is ever likely to be.

I never claimed the windows store was better. I want to purchase my games for the platform I choose and not be locked into a walled garden. I have suffered too many times through steam over the years. locked out of my supposed offline copy of civilization because I had no internet connection due to a steam bug. Forced repackaging of working local games without the option of saying no or do it later. I like old school games where if a game isn't online it should have ZERO requirement for any online service, that includes ANY store tie in, especially steam.

Doesn't seem that walled to me in terms of games library, mods, customisations of my profile along with other aspects of Steam. I have no issues playing my games in offline mode either and I also buy from Steam, battle.net and GoG. Steam is DRM (but there are so many others as well) but not the absolute gut wrenching shit for all PC players worst kind out there, if anything MS's route is one of the worst attempts at a "walled garden". Sounds like you have internet issues which I guess you should probably sort out at some point rather than telling a client to get his store in order that works for millions. How many new games do you play on PC these days anyway?. (that don't use any DRM at all and are completely SP only)

Mankind, in its arrogance and self-delusion, must believe they are the mirrors to God in both their image and their power. If something shatters that mirror, then it must be totally destroyed.
