Why do certain pc gamers decide not to buy games they want and like just because it's not on Steam. Does it really matter to them? I just don't get the reasoning behind this. Isn't the whole point of building a pc the fact that you have multiple options and are not locked down to any one thing. So why when it Comes to where you buy your game from does it have to be steam? Genuinely interested to know.

I think there is a real fear in the PC community of Microsoft's intentions after they attempted to charge for Live on PC. The Steam storefront is actually a lot better as Microsoft addressed this week regarding wanti g to improve it. Plus, there seems to be pessimism about the free to play model. Plus there are many many complaints about Microsoft's past PC support in general.
