This is MOTHER FUCKING VIRTUAL REALITY FOR FUCKS SAKE!!!!!!!! This is the beginnings of the shit we've been dreaming of since Tron. The whole point of the most popular genres of video games is to place yourself into a different role, a different universe, to experience a story. What better way to do this, then immersion? I mean why did 5.1 and 7.1 Surround sound take off... (which costs a hefty penny) and still has demand years later? Beyond gaming -- think about virtual reality porn when it takes off! |
I find it nutty to assume it will be everything and be super insanely popular. There are still parts around the world that don't care about TV let alone video games, we can't exactly call them nut jobs because they are different from us.
We dreamed of VR for decades and even then the last time we had a good amount of VR hype and that ended up going out with no bang. I'm of the observse and wait pov because it could very well go under or it could do well enough, even then it will still take years to mature. What I find more interesting than VR is an actual holodeck, in fact that's what quite a few of my mates said some years back when OR prototype was announced and even some I see today.
I don't know why you threw in the robbery while wearing the headset part. I never specifically mentioned chances of someone getting robbed while wearing a VR headset.
I feel VR will be more widepread than just mere porn, it has more fields of use than just games and porn tbh.
Mankind, in its arrogance and self-delusion, must believe they are the mirrors to God in both their image and their power. If something shatters that mirror, then it must be totally destroyed.
