VR will always stay a gimmick until it allows you to walk and do everyday stuff with it. As long as it'll isolate you from real world it'll stay a hardcore product.

You could say the same about desktop computers.. But they are pretty popular. Sold hundreds and millions.

Computers don't isolate you from real life and now that they come in the form of tablets you can walk with them no problem. A lot of those computers are sold to companies, families and other areas where people need constant interactions. Not everyone is living alone. For gaming I think it'll be great for those that want it but then again it's a solo experience imo.

Why does it matter to be able to walk and do everyday stuff with it?

My desktop, my TV, my video game systems, they are all stationary things.  I don't know about you, but you don't see this ever:

There's already tons of work going into it, so it isn't an isolated product.

PSVR puts a display on the TV for example.

There's room for stuff like this:

Why it matters? Because a lot of people use computers for different uses. I wouldn't work on my computer  constantly if I had to be isolated from the real world let alone go to work with a VR, then VR at home... please.

I'm not saying that VR is bad or anything. I just think some people are overstimating the casual appeal of devices like that. It'll be like Wii imo, fun at first then tireing in the long run.
