Yeah, I agree that watching how former PC developers neglect the platform that gave them their good name in the industry is disappointing and very sad.

It is definitely disappointing and depressing, but at the same time I realise that some devs do take some steps back like this and take some years worth of crap from the PC side of gaming, then eventually they know they need to work hard to regain lost sales/trust and I honestly like when that happens because it means the devs have harder challenges to overcome and eventually learn not to keep straying from the path. Even if they do we get other devs who replace them and steal their spotlight (by working for it like the former once had), in doing so we get to applaud the new guys for doing what the previous devs should have done, they lose out in the end if they stray off the path (we sorta do but not as much as they will in the long run) while we gain from what other devs provide.

It's also potentially dangerous for NVidia if those Doom benches are correct. I mean, Titan getting it's ass kicked by a Radeon 7950? GeForce 980Ti on the same level as a Radeon 280X? Doom clearly shows how much optimisations can matter.

They also show that the optimisations are more effective on GCN 1.0 and 1.1 (aka the versions in Xbox ONE and PS4), as the 380X is well below a 280X and the 290 has an enourmous advantage over a 380X

And of course, no SLI/Crossfire advantage, since consoles can't do that.

If it's not sorted out by release, then I'm most likely never getting the game as I;m rocking a single 980 (which I already think wasn't worth the money at this point).

Mankind, in its arrogance and self-delusion, must believe they are the mirrors to God in both their image and their power. If something shatters that mirror, then it must be totally destroyed.
