Casuals have no real competition this gen so far in the dedicated space but the hardcore do.  

If NX is indeed both HH+HC doesnt that mean it has a good amount of Hardcore audience on it thanks to the portable side?

The hardcore handheld market is dwindling big time.  The DS sold mostly to kids and for games like the brain training etc.  They've moved onto mobile now and parents aren't as willing to buy a dedicated handheld plus a smartphone / tablet.
