Plasma's have been on the market for 12 years. LCD's have been on the market for 7 years.

Around 60,000 hour life span for both LCD and Plasma.

Plus I wouldnt even say Sony makes even the best LCD HDTV's. Muchless the best HDTV's seeing how plasmas have better picture quailty and refresh rate.

From what I've seen I would say pioneer makes the best HDTV's.

Plasma still has the ghosting issue.

As for LCDs, Sony's Bravias are the best. Toshiba cames in Second.

Yeah and the fact they need to be in a room that doesnt get much light where as for lcd's it doesnt really matter.

I like samsung's LCD Tv's better then sony's. But hey that could just be me.

 I had a rear projection TV until March this year.  My biggest complaint with it, was that I couldn't see anything on the screen during the day, until I had all the curtains closed.  So I got my 52" LCD Sony Bravia TV.  And I actually had to turn the brightness down a bit, it was so bright it hurt my eyes.  I certainly don't have a problem seeing the screen, daylight or not, anymore.  Heh
