http://www.pcgamer.com/darkspore-will-close-for-good-next-week/

The announcement of Darkspore's imminent, permanent shutdown was actually made in December, but, tellingly, nobody noticed. But with just one week until the curtains come down for good, the word is starting to get out, and on the off-chance that any of you are still playing it, I thought you might like to know.

More than six years after it was revealed to the world, Crate Entertainment's dark fantasy action-RPG Grim Dawn is finally ready to go live. The studio announced in a Kickstarter update that the latest pre-release build takes the game into a complete, launch-ready state, and it will thus leave Early Access and go into full release on February 25.

Battlefield Hardline gets a new DLC pack some time next month, so Visceral Games has thrown together the above video to show it off. Dubbed Betrayal, the pack includes four new maps, which the trailer serves to reveal. They come in the form of Alcatraz, Chinatown, Thin Ice and Cemetery. VALVE FANS HAVE FOUND SOME INTERESTING HINTS IN THE STEAMVR PERFORMANCE TEST

http://www.pcgamer.com/valve-fans-have-found-some-interesting-hints-in-the-steamvr-performance-test/

If there's one thing you can rely on in 2016, it's this: if Valve release a sheet of code, people will pillage it for Half-Life 3 references. Valve recently rolled out the SteamVR Performance Test, which is designed to establish how fit a PC is for VR. Predictably enough, the community at Valve Time has stripped the program down and discovered a bunch of secrets inside.

>>No, I won't even bother with it. I've been burned before.

BEAVERS AND HANDCUFFS COME TO ARK

http://www.pcgamer.com/beavers-and-handcuffs-come-to-ark/

The more I think about its name, the more it makes sense to me that Ark is doing its darnedest to patch in every animal under the sun plus some extra ones that take its fancy. And the more I think about the latest addition to the menagerie, the worse an idea it seems to put beavers on a wooden boat.

OUTLAST, SUNLESS SEA, DOOR KICKERS AND MORE IN HUMBLE INDIE BUNDLE 16

http://www.pcgamer.com/outlast-sunless-sea-door-kickers-and-more-in-humble-indie-bundle-16/

I was burned out on Humble Bundles after the first couple. In part it was because my cup runneth over with games I've never installed and bundles contribute to Steam library shame in a big way. But there's also the fact that the quality is highly variable from one bundle to the next. Humble Indie Bundle 16 is obscenely well endowed.

PLAY DEATH WITH THE DIVISION'S 'END OF SOCIETY SIMULATOR'

http://www.pcgamer.com/play-death-with-the-divisions-end-of-society-simulator/

Ubisoft's ad gurus certainly are putting in the overtime drumming up hype for The Division. We've had the usual slew of explosive trailers and beta 'tests', but they've been accompanied by interactive MacGuffins to toy with and remind us that what we're gearing up to play is, in fact, a game.
