CG Projekt has no problems launching their games on Steam despite having their own store. It's a shame that MSoft has decided to take the same route as EA. Instead of making the PC market grow, they are only fracturing it and making it smaller |
See I would totally get behind MS if they just threw those titles onto Steam and supported Windows 7-10. I'd give them all my money but it's unlikely to happen ebcause this whole shindig of them offering really late ports to PC involves us having to adhere to a set of rules while also losing options and to me that is probably one of the biggerst downsides I've seen MS give out in some years.
I know they claim they don't see Steam as competition and want them to grow but it's clear they don't, they don't want Steam to grow but they want their store to grow just as big but lacking all the good things and features that made Steam great. Honestly I agree, it's likely that them sticking to their guns (for once they stick to it at the wrong time) will just fracture the PC market than keeping it together, I'm already split up from buying Ubisoft titles thanks to Uplay being in the mix and I;m honestly not going to buy from EA thanks to Star Wars Battlefront and how they treated that.
I don't think MS wants PC to have an open eco system, I think they just want PC to literally be just all MS, all on one OS, all using one API like a console, which isn't really what PC ever is or ever will be.
Mankind, in its arrogance and self-delusion, must believe they are the mirrors to God in both their image and their power. If something shatters that mirror, then it must be totally destroyed.
