It's part of the high wages then getting relegated problem. they were in the Prem 3-4 years ago, which means many of their contracts were probably long term and high. Going to a league below where your income is less than a 1/4 of what you had before hurts. Look at what happened to other once prem clubs after getting relegated (Saints being one of them until we got purchased by a rich guy).
