The reason why I disagree with your analysis of the term is that every time someone tries to talk about men's issues, where they do have less rights than women, they're not called feminists, are they?  They're called MRA's and demonized.  In theory, your definition works out, in practice, it doesn't.

It's kinda like the difference between "half full" and "half empty."  They kind of mean the same thing and they don't.

The glass is half full if you're filling it.

The glass is half empty if you're emptying it.  Even though at that moment in time they are both exactly the same.  Even though the glass is the same, the act is different.

They're called feminists if they're trying to equalize by giving women rights.

If a man is trying to get a right, women have; they are not feminists. Even though they are doing the same thing, the act is different because they are for different groups of people.

Not really sure you can assume that, without asking them, can you?  Are we just incapable of having compassion and consideration for...two things at once?   I may not have a great view on the current state of feminism, but I still believe in equality.  And yes, that means for both women and men.
