It's a hefty price, sales will be modest at best.
Also, while it's $200 more expensive, the fact that it's a complete solution unlike the competition (with the two hand controllers and two tracking stations), make it compelling option.
And it remains to be seen how they manage the price outside of the US, because if it's 799 € and the shipping costs are reasonable (HTC sells its phones in Europe, so both things should be doable), then the distance against the Rift isn't that great...
