You could buy all three VR products, use it and then complain they are all inferior... thats the problem with VR right now... it's early days, but I dont think people on the street want to pay $700 for one.

Yes it could happen that all big 3 are considered inferior to expectations but the cheapest, most compromised product has also the biggest chance of becoming "useless" in the next few years when VR-software really starts to evolve. Personally I think quality VR and mass adoption can't be done financially yet, the tech is too expensive.
