Its been done in the past with Quake 3 on Dreamcast and Unreal T3 on PS3. I think they know its a bad idea at this point.

Maybe Halo Wars 2 will have crossplay. So KB+M players can find each other on console or PC.

They could just make it where the devs can either allow or not allow the feature to prevent it on FPS games. 

Then use the feature to unleash a ton of RTS games which would be pretty awesome!
