Besides Aeris loves Cloud. In my opinion the fact that he begins to change from a disinterested and cocky guy to a more caring person is proof to that.

You know what not opinion though, the fact that Aeris loved Zack and Cloud got friend zoned, lol.

Zack been dead, you expect her to love a guy whose been dead for 5-7yrs and with a bunch of unanswered letters? Besides it's up to the player to decide Cloud love interest. See the gold saucer.
