If it weren't for Sony this gen would have:
- Always online DRM
- You dont own the games you "buy"
- You cant sell/loan the games you buy
- Prices skyrocketing etc
Before, during, and after the Xbox One announcement MS was literally like "We cant discuss that right now/We'll back to you later" for any and all questions. It was painfully obvious that they saw the potential for a monopoly and wanted to be like Apple/Itunes.
