Honestly, I'm not knocking this game because it isn't revolutionary, I'm knocking it because it has "been there, done that a million times already" written all over it.

I might be a decent game but I get the distinct feeling that I've played it so many times in the past 10 years that I have a hard time saying anything more than "meh" about it.
Hopefully the full game will surprise me but I'm not holding my breath in anticipation.

Can't you say the same thing about Resistance, COD4, Halo 3, etc? The only shooters that have changed the playing field this gen are Bioshock, for it's storytelling, and Gears, for the cover system, but everything else could be filed under "been there, done that"

I could say the same thing about Halo 3's single player and Resistance as a whole but from what I hear COD4 was pretty awesome in many ways (I only barely played it) and did some amazing things. And Bioshok isn't the onll awesome new shooter this gen, Metroid Prime 3: Corruption brought us a new control scheme standard, Halo 3 had fantastic multiplayer, Portal was amazing, HL2: Episode 2 was very solid tried and true but also cheap, and there others that I just don't feel like going into (half lazy, half don't follow the genre super closely).

And actually, as much as I knock on Resistance, even the 40 player multiplayer was pretty amazing since I don't think something like that had been done on a console FPS before (though I could be wrong there).
