Because the Wii U's specs and limitations didn't come into exsistance now. It be like saying: "We just created this new eletric engine. That can work in any car." But 2 weeks before release. Ford cars can't use it. Because it's a foot longer. They knew the limits, at the start of the build. But it seems they only focus on making a top looking game for other systems. Ignoring that they're exceeding Wii U's. Then go OOOOPS. We have to spent money to downquality so many various things. Instead of limiting the game to Wii U specs. Wii U shouldn't of been in the list of consoles, from the get go. Or even worse. They knew they couldn't pay for optinmization of multiple systems, from the start. Flat out lied. And used Wii U owners as patsy's. |
I don't understand your example at all; it seemingly has no relevance to what happened here.
If specs and limitatins were the issue, then why is the Vita version not cancelled? You're mis-understanding what happened here. I'd suggest reading the OP again.
Engine maker & Nintendo promised support for HLD's engine on WiiU. Game is nearly ready for release and the engine still isn't supported. It's not a case of specs, or optimization. And I don't see how they've lied - in fact, they've been pretty open about what's happening with this post.
The only argument I feel holds some weight is if you said "well they should have built it in an engine which we KNOW supported WiiU from the get-go". Which I can kinda understand. But consider that at the time of the campaign (September 2013), the engine wasn't supported on PS4 or Vita. That must've been promised to them (just like with WiiU) and it did eventually come around - Gamemaker was given support for those two platforms in May 2014.
I think it's a bit extreme to expect them to export it to a whole different engine myself just because Yoyogames and Nintendo can't come to some agreement, personally.
