The opinion of a 'noob' is just as valid as the opinion of an 'expert' the problem (in my opinion) is that they attempt to summarize very complicated opinions about games into a simplistic and arbitrary numeric scale. Honestly, you learn far more about a game based on the following few yes/no questions than you do from the 10 point scale:
Did you enjoy the game?
Would you recommed the game to people who like the genre?
Would you recommed the game to people in general?
