"Then why is it that with every kickstarter it's ALWAYS the Wii U version that gets the axe despite the financial support? I think it is because devs put all of their resources on other platforms and neglect the system. They are okay taking money from Nintendo fans money but then when its time to release the game they release it on the other platforms and shrug their shoulders when it comes time for the Wii U version. Hyper light drifter isn't the first and probably won't be the last to pull this crap on the fanbase.

Part of the reason they got so much money for this kickstarter was that they put the Wii U version up on a pedestal and Nintendo fans backed it to death to reach that $550,000 goal before it ended. You have got to be fing kidding me."

100%

Happens plenty of times with Vita versions as well, luckily (for me) not in this case, but I've seen a number of times that's been promised as a platform only to say it's not possible.

Normally it's because the original plan goes haywire, normally because they assume Vita can run it but it actually can't without a lot of optimization, so they don't bother.

I honestly feel the reason given is a bit better here.  If the engine maker and Nintendo promised it would be supported, and that support never materialized, then it's really out of the dev's hands.  Cost of developing in another engine would be much more than they anticipated.

Is not justified in any case, Vita or WiiU, they promised something, they got the money of the people for that reason then they should do everything, and I mean, everything they can to deliver it, if not, shut up and dont overpromise, it may be a better reason than usual but it doesnt matter that much, it still gaves a feeling of being unprofesional and very hard to trust wich is how people is thinking about Kickstarter lately, they are hurting the platform with this kind of shit imo.
