So the 8th gen consoles (ps4 and Xbone) are basically pcs. They use standart pc hardware from AMD with an custom operation system.

Scince Microsoft owns Windows, it shouldnt be a big deal to allow the xbox one to play pc software (.exe). Pretty much the same way it works on pc (Windows 10 is compatible with windows 7/8/vista and co software). So it shouldnt be a big issue to make the xbox one able to run those applications as well. At least in my (bad) technical knowlegde).

While the Xbox One is not a high end gaming pc, the gpu and cpu are still decent for all games older then 4-5 years. Beeing able to play pretty much all games from ~1990-2011 would be a big advantage.

Games like: Half Life/2, Starcraft 2, Guild Wars /2, Heartstone, Age of Empires, Orcs must die/2, Oblivion, Mass Effect series, Dragon Age, Witcher 1, Cod 4, League of Legends and alot more.

(mouse + keyboard support for some games). Most of those games do even run on intels integrated graphics now a day. It wouldnt be a problem to run them high-ultra settings on the xbox ones hardware.

Opinions?
