I loved my Xbox, the first thing I did was mod it and put in a larger harddrive, not to pirate games, but so that I could load every game I had on there. I could access every game I owned without having to take out a single disk (I didn't play online at the time). Also, load times were faster using the HD.
I also put all my NES and SNES games on there too, so the size didn't bother me, since I basically had 3 consoles in 1.
