I love the Halo universe and Halo 4 has the best story telling of the series. I didn't play Halo 5 yet (still in wrapped case) but from what I'm hearing it's not really a continuation of Halo 4. I don't mind not playing Master Chief but they should've followed what they started in 4.
Also, every publisher has a say in the development of huge franchises they fund so MS being involved in the story is not a surprise. They all do it, would it be good or bad they all do it.
