Where do you go from a galaxy wide event which is basically the end of all life? You go to a different galaxy.

I'm worried about this, they say it takes place a long time after the ME trilogy yet according to design, nothing has changed, the human race has gone from fighting with 6 shooters to automatic rifles in less than a decade but the technology in ME world halted at the end of ME3? Still has N7 on their armour? They are going to an entire new galaxy (god knows how) and we have the same races as before?

When I say worried I mean from a story telling perspective. I'm not sure how Bioware are are doing recently with writers, losing some for example. DA:I's writing was not the best and lost the personal touch in exchange for 'world annihilation'. I mean ME2's story and character interactions were far superior to nearly everything in ME3 (omitting the heart wrenching choice in the Genophage 'renegade' choice). I think they are making ME:A based on success of ME series but didn't know how to do it after the ending of it.

If the main character ends up being called 'Shepard' (because he/she is bringing them to a new galaxy).

I'm a little lukewarm so far. I'm still wondering how it will connect to the original trilogy. I understand that they're starting something new, but if it's too far removed, I'll be much less interested.

The more removed the better in my view. That series ended with a choice and one of those choices was kill everyone... wasn't it?

Hmm, pie.
