You say you're a liberal, but what your comments from the Sweden thread say otherwise...
And you do know that phobia means an irrational fear, not a fear. Considering what has been going on in the Middle East (and the MENA region, in general), Germany, and Sweden, the concern is rather valid. If you want to use the word xenophobia, apply it in the correct context rather than using it as a buzzword for character assassination.
