Just finished it...it's, let's say, more of an experience than a game.

The world is gorgeous, dialog is witty and voice acting is pretty good, but ultimately its story is not what (I presume) most players have expected out of it...maybe that's on purpose, but it left me somewhat in "meh" mood in the end.

I think it's something that should be experienced, but given its 4-5 hour length and no replay value, current price is a bit too high (plus I hear there are currently lot of frame rate issues on PS4).

Hmm?... Is the story better than SOMA's?

2nd reply on this:

Now that I played SOMA for some time....well, Firewatch is not really similar to SOMA. I would clasify latter as exporation horror with some puzzles (tbh, only game from Fractional that I really liked is Penumbra which was much scarier and had much more puzzles), Firewatch is exploration game...no horror, no puzzles really.

As for story, I find SOMA to be interesting in some aspects (ARK), while pretty cookie-cutter with other (WAU). Firewatch on the other hand has a story that builds to a certain point, but that is misleading and as aleady mentioned fizzles to not much in the end. Oh and that horrible VO in SOMA...Firewatch is really good in that.

Anyway, as I said, I still recommend it as experience, just wait for price drop or sale.
