Oh, I know. I think this hurts the Republicans chances in November either way. They either look like the bad guy for delaying an appointment, or they give the president a huge political win during an election year.

But, considering that there is a very real chance they could lose the Senate AND fail to take the White House this year. I think they'll see delaying an appointment as the lesser of two evils.

If they thin they're going tto lose the white house and the senate, then wouldn't it be better to do the appointment now?  If they lose the senate and the whitehouse, then Hilary or Bernie can push in whoever the hell they want.
