It's not like physical injuries are a big deal when it comes to rape. If your talking about mental injuries. That's a hard thing to quantify.
Male surivors of rape tend to take it even more inward then female survivors.
I would think it would be somewhere around the same level of trauma however.
Simply the way you phrased your replies in the thread just made it sound like that it was a male only problem, and since you didn't mean it that way, i apologize.
However it pisses me off a lot when it sounds like people are lumping me in with rapists and also downplaying the effects of such things on men.
Arguements of something being rarer also tend to piss me off because it's not like these types of things are team sports and the trauma gets spread across everyone. Whether you have a 1 in 10 chance of getting raped or a 1 in 200 chance, if you're raped, that's going to effect you just as badly.
Also, as for doing something about it... there isn't much that can be done. It's not like anyone (i know) publically supports rape. If there were, and/or if I saw someone raping someone i'd like to think i would speak up and or stop someone. Or at least attempt to, at 5'6 130 I'm not sure how effective i'd be.
The only way that I believe it can be fixed is for people to raise their children better... or something, people who believe rape is ok seem to be so unbelivable fucked in the head I wouldn't even know where to start with changing their minds outside of a bullet and you really can't shoot people before they comit a crime no matter how fucked up their viewpoints.
I really have no interest in having children in a perfect world, let alone this one... that one option is out for me.
