IIRC FF6 launched with some grahpical issues.

FF6 I hear had some issues with its visuals but those were fixed easily.

FF7 had the botched audio from the original PC version but it was officially patched.

FF8 had the botched audio too but SE didnt patch it - but there are mods to fix it.

FF13 had FPS issues but those were fixed for the most part

 

Although the recently released ones didnt have any issues so hoping for the best here too :D

With that track record, I would say that buying it day one is a very bad idea. You're better off getting Disgaea first.
