Almost certainly. Ad rates for gaming sites are ~ half what they were in 2010 for major gaming websites. It's why so many sites have had to close or scale back operations.

I've previously seen stats that indicate ad-blocker usage amongst gamers on videogame news sites is higher than even ad-blocker on porn sites.

 

I don't get how people don't realise that stuff like ad blockers on websites you love is effectively choking off their revenue stream.

 

As for VCG. A more mobile device friendly setup IMO should be the next priority.
