However Googles VR is doing the same thing the other VR units are doing, and depending on your phone and the right VR unit attached to it (Not on about the google cardboard ones but the 3rd party ones bases on its design) can achive an image quality thats just as good or pretty damn close to the Real VR units. And if you really think the Tracking wont catch up i would love to know your reasons for this?. Sure the Phone tracking might not be as good now, but you can use another program for the tracking if using it for PC games such as TrackIR etc until the phones get there. As for the 3D sound all you need is 3D headphones. So what exactly is in them VR units that you think wont be in phones in say the next 3-5 years. |
Now you're adding things. Phones don't have accurate 1000hz tracking right now. Phones don't come with motion controllers or any external controllers. Phones don't come with 3D head phones. That's all not in phones, nor will it be in the next 3-5 years.
Yes, anaglyph glasses alter the colours, google cardboard is no substitute for external tracking and the lack of motion controllers.
What's in VR units that won't be in phones? The complete package, tailor made and fine tuned to the specific hardware components involved.
But if you have trackIR, hydra razer controllers, 3d headphones and a good (clean undamaged) phone, well you still need to find games made with all that in mind and get it all working together.
