I agree it's cheap, but sadly that's the way this world works. Just remember though that it's not just Sony doing stuff like that. MS took the huge RRoD hit a year or so ago to be able to report profits now, and Nintendo isn't even trying to raise production enough to satisfy demand because the longer their console is sold out the better they look.

Reasons like these are why I never trust official statements. I want to see audited financial statements beforeI believe anything from a large company.

Actualy, Nintendo is planing to raise production again. 2.4m/month is the number being tossed around.

After they raised it from 2.3/month a while ago. If we're lucky they may soon hit 2.5 per month. They're only making these token increases to be able to say they're trying to meet demand. The reality is that they want the Wii to stay sold out because it makes their product look even more popular than it already is.

Care to explain why Nintendo would NOT want the Wii to be sold out. I raised a legitimate issue, and you in turn did nothing but attack me personally. Who's the real troll here?

 I completley understand what your saying , he's a fanboy so he'll easy mistake anything that sounds anti-nintendo as an assault on the company.

 Wii's being sold out would be good for the reason that it has a psycological effect on the consumer , they want what they can't have which will increase the desirability and value for money of the Wii,  if Nintendo can make the demand slighty greater than that of their supply ( assuming the demand remains high) then it will result in long term profitability for Nintendo.

I used to be a Nintendo fanboy but thats so way long back in the day when Sega was a force to be reckoned with and since then I actually matured to the level of being a gaming fanboy which is why I don´t hate the PS family even though I hate Sony and only moron fanboys could hate a console that much and ignore all the fun they could be experiencing even if it´s not their console of choice and that lesson I learned during late PS 1 era and my experience with Tekken 3 mostly but other games too showed me how stupid I was when I was like you two an ignorant fanboy only seeing my preferences and ignoring the rest.

Never said that Nintendo wouldn´t want to be sold out but the would never want to miss sales either if they can do anything about it and keeping supply low and selling less will never be in Nintendos interest since they only make money from games and consoles and nothing else. They would rather sell more then they do and be sold out and they would rather sell more every month and not be sold out because thats good buisness but selling less then they actually could would be bad buisness and Nintendo is not a fan of bad buisness.

It´s just stupid fanboys like you two that would think that a company would rather be sold out then sell more if they can do anything about it.
