The requirement of a high end pc will not take away the ceartainty of the Oculus working with it.It just means if you have a powerful pc, as powerful as they instruct you to have, it will work.It is not different as someone who want to game on pc nowadays. You just have to be concient of your pc limitations, as always have been the case, so your argument about that dont hold water. And since Oculus will be more powerful than the PS VR, the enthusiastics will most likely buy the Oculus over the PS VR because they will want a better experience.Having that said, I always saw the PS VR being marketed and targeted at the people who want just looking at a new experience but not willing to spear head it.I just simply dont think there is enough people out there that fits those criteria and are willing to spend an extra 400 dollars on a phjeriperal.

For gamers the risk that a pc will not be able to play a certain game properly is always there and the risk that this particular pc will not work sufficiently or at all with oculus will be a risk. There are many different versions of graphics cards and processors that some people who just want VR will opt for the PS4 PSVR combo instead. While you can certainly just buy a PC more powerful that the required specs that will just increase the price barrier. So I don't see how my argument about the PS4 offering certainty that it will work with PSVR while Oculus does not when it comes to the required pc.

And the Vive is more powerful than Oculus so then maybe people will be purchasing that instead? There are signifigant number of gamers prefer the certainty  and price point of a console as well. VR may be a new horizon for technology but it is also unknown and therefore the price barrier of the Oculus will put off many mid range gamers. Sony will also be able to bank on the Sony loyalist to boost the early numbers. Plus if the SVR garners better pre and post launch content from third parties VR fans will flock to the one with the best software. More powerful does not always equal more sales.

The last point about PS VR being targeted at people looking for a new experience is true for all VR at this point. VR's biggest selling point that it is a new way to consume media. And if the Microsoft Kinect and Wii and succeed of cheap gimicks I don't see why VR cant succeed of what appears to be a genuinly good one.
