If that were the case then it would be fine, it's not the end of the world that they announce a port later on the same way it woudln't be the end of the world for XCOM.
Mankind, in its arrogance and self-delusion, must believe they are the mirrors to God in both their image and their power. If something shatters that mirror, then it must be totally destroyed.
