If some of the above people are correct I must say I am ASHAMED of SONY

what a CHEAP move..."oh we'll predict it low n then raise it later to make Ps3 look like its pwning"

I agree it's cheap, but sadly that's the way this world works. Just remember though that it's not just Sony doing stuff like that. MS took the huge RRoD hit a year or so ago to be able to report profits now, and Nintendo isn't even trying to raise production enough to satisfy demand because the longer their console is sold out the better they look.

Reasons like these are why I never trust official statements. I want to see audited financial statements beforeI believe anything from a large company.

Actualy, Nintendo is planing to raise production again. 2.4m/month is the number being tossed around.

After they raised it from 2.3/month a while ago.  If we're lucky they may soon hit 2.5 per month.  They're only making these token increases to be able to say they're trying to meet demand.  The reality is that they want the Wii to stay sold out because it makes their product look even more popular than it already is.

Umm, no. Research, please. According to Nintendo financials, hey were still at 1.8m a few months ago.

And if you're anything like the average fanboy, your next question is "Why don't they just raise production now??!!1" Because they can't. The system is manufactured by several different companies, who are all under contract to produce a certain number of components. Raising production requires finding new vendors (not easy) or renegotiating wth your old ones (also not easy). It's not a mater of pushing a button orsigning and a check and "Vola! More
Wiis!"
