To be fair, I'd estimate that a little less than half of that 100m install base on the Wii would be what you'd call 'core gamers' based on the sales numbers for some of Nintendo's significant non-casual games (Animal Crossing, Smash, 3D Mario and mainline Zelda for example) compared to similar series entries on the Gamecube.  The only games I can remember off-hand that got significant boosts becuase of the casual crowd (besides casual games) were 2D platformers, Mario Kart and party games.

 

Not seeing your point here. Who exactly the games sold to is irrelevant unless you're trying to explain why the Metroid base is louder.
