Just as fans need to understand that Nintendo is not some saint company who does no wrong. All this content comes down to just being DLC (in some cases DLC for content already contained on the disc), and inaccessible in any other form except buying an amiibo figure, which not everyone wants.
And please, seriously? It seems fair to have to pay an extra $10 just because they added some dungeon to a nearly 10 year old game?

I think what this comes down to is what exactly people want/expect from Amiibo. In addition to this, do people even want Amiibo to exist in the first place?
If you accept the premise that Amiibo are here to stay and will continue to have functionality in all major Nintendo releases from here on out, you have to also accept that they will be used in ways beyond simply unlocking asethetic changes (skins) or providing daily power ups. People IMO need to start treating Amiibo as a part of the whole game-buying experience when it comes to Nintendo. This means that when you play Nintendo games from here on out, you have to accept that the game will include some fuctionality that you will need an Amiibo to unlock/use.
Of course, this leads to another discussion about whether Nintendo gamers really want Amiibo at all. But that's a debate for another thread.
