Not that I fully disagree but it's more what you post, what you read, so on..

Except we are on a video game oriented forum. People come here because they are putting effort into the hobby. Doing research on the games to play, discussing about them, etc.

If my time observing the gaming community on YouTube has taught me anything, it's that practically non-gamers can spend a lot of time talking about games online. It takes far less effort and money to watch others play & adopt others opinions.
