Bugs Bunny doesn't wear clothes at all but uses a bath towel around himself and a towel for his head as well after a shower.
It's just an old joke. ^_^
Lots of things you saw/heard when you were young are actually pretty disturbing. Consider the Tooth Fairy for example. She teaches children that selling their body parts will get them money.
