Are you implying every game has an equal chance of success regardless of it's genre, style, target audience, marketing, difficulty, etc.? I can only guess since you left out what your point was.
We know Prime 3 sold not even 2 million compared to Returns 6+ million, thus DK atleast had a chance of being a multimillion seller on Wii U, while the odds for Metroid are no chance in hell. And again It makes more sense to please the bigger audience first so they made the right choice. We'd likely get a great game eitherway, so why not make the one that is more liked.
