Ok, but why? Why the double standards? You agree long cycles are bad, so you agree (from what I understand) that the series is not mamaged at its best,  but don't you think another studio may be able to handle Zelda as well, while R&D3 could make new IPs (like Splatoon)?

Same goes for Wolly Yoshi, for example: the WiiU didn't need yet another 2D plaftormer, yet Goodfeel doesn't get any hate for creating one.

It's not double standard, it's expectations. Everybody was expecting something amazing from Retro, not another 2D. Goodfeel has been developed 2D since some years ago. For sure that people will be mad if Zelda team does a 2D DK rather than a new Zelda game.

But don't worry, Retro has gone in the irrelevance way. Nobody will be mad if they decide to do another 2D DK game because most won't care anymore.
