Which is why Japanese games have become less relevant in the worldwide market over time. Their focus on systems like the PSP and PSV made it easy for American and European developers to take a huge lead.

Out of curiosity, what's more important for you: Worldwide success for Japanese games, or games getting put on PlayStation? I know from your posting history that you are very interested in both of these things.

So prior to late 2004 (and the introduction of the PSP), what did the worldwide market for Japanese games look like?
