In terms of setting records beating out the first 2 years of X360 is not really all that important 2008 = 2016 in terms of launch alignment, and 2008 is when X360 really took off for MS. For X360 sales went from 8M in 20017 to just over 11M in 2008. 2015 Xb one beat 360's 2007 numbers, but not by a huge margin. So the sales bump for 2016 has to be more or less the same as for X360. Can Xb one hit a 3 million YoY increase , which amounts to about a 32% YoY lift? Conditions in 2008 were far more favourable to Xbox than they are now, i.e. PS3 was still in the PR doldrums.
I can see Xb one getting a 10-15% YoY increase if they do a price cut to $299. But I don't see a >30% lift.
