And what's to understand about hating refugees? They're refugees from oppression / persecution in their home country and all they want is to find a place to live without fear. We *should* have sympathy and empathy for them. I hate the sort of world that creates millions of refugees but how can you hate the people who feel left with no choice but to abandon their home country because of tyrannical rule and economic misery? If a country has a good refugee settlement programme refugees typically have low crime rates and the children have high engagement in education. If a country doesn't have a good refugee settlement programme then there can be problems, but is that the refugees' fault?
