Actually, those were inspired by two different things. The OP of that graphics whore post states what inspired it, and this was inspired by a thread about whether MGS4 would get more hype than Halo 3. Some mentioned all the crazy shit Halo 3 had in its marketing, so I was thinking what would be the only way to top that, and I thought, 'How about its own licensed games?'
Seriously, that's the one of the few things that you'd never think a major video game would have.
A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.
