RolStoppable said: Have you looked at how third parties have been treating the PC? Console versions get prioritized despite what you claim to be an advantage. Third parties gladly go for physical media because the sales are so much higher than digital. Third parties may want all digital, but none of them is daring to make their games digital-only despite it already being possible on all eighth gen systems. They full well know that consumers wouldn't simply adapt, but instead migrate to the games that are still available in a physical format. That's why it would be suicidal for Nintendo to force a transition to all digital. |
Third parties occasional treatment of PC has nothing to do with it being digital, and there are just as many instances where console ports are shitty as their are where PC ports are shitty. Any prioritization being done comes from the fact the PC is an open platform with an infamous ease of piracy, which is a non-issue for consoles. Don't try and skew the facts.
Now I can't believe I even have to say this, but if the PS4 or XBO were digital only, they would most definitely dare to support those playforms. Obviously. They support physical because its there. The music industry still supports CDs because they're there. The film and television still support DVDs because they're there. But as soon as a digital only alternative came out, they flocked to them. NX will be the same for console gaming. They may not dare going digital only on a physical platform, but they'll jump at the chance to support a digital only console, as long as the console itself is a marketable one. Which the NX likely will be.
