You point out a lot of facts that can't be argued. Religion has been like the act of the devil whether it's Christianity or islam. Just so much bad has happened.
But it's also done and does a lot of good. If you walk into my local church all you will ever hear is the priest telling the congregation to be nice to others, generous, charitable, forgiving etc etc etc.
I no longer attend but I promise you the people who walk in and out of that church are much better people than you're average person from the community. The community is full of people who are greedy, selfish and driven by money. Corruption, drink and drugs problems are huge. If everyone of the 20k people in my area acted like the 3/4k who attend church the community would be a much better and safer place.
So yes I agree religion has been the devil's work but it's been abused by the people in power. Now that it can no longer be abused, religions like Christianity do a lot of good.
It still needs major reform or it will become utterly irrelevant. Things like not encouraging condoms, medical abortions, divorce etc should be allowed.
And priests should be allowed get married and have families. I believe that's one major reason there were so many pedos in the Catholic Church. It's just so against the human body not to be allowed have sex or orgasm.
